This is a brand new Xiangqi (Chinese Chess) set with a foldable magnetic chessboard in fine plastic and metal material. The chessboard measures 12" in length, 12" in width, and 1" in thickness when unfolded. This is medium to large size in chessboard standard. The chessboard is foldable, with a nicely designed storage compartment for storing the chess pieces. When folded, the chessboard gives convenience for storage. The Xiangqi chessboard has 9 x 10 lines of intersection. The chess pieces are placed on the designated line intersections in the start. They will continue to be placed on intersection points as the game progresses. Each camp has a "palace" at the center. The "palace" is formed by 3 x 3 intersection. The circular playing pieces are made of two materials. The outer material is plastic, while a small magnet is embedded inside each chess piece. This combination enables the chess pieces to stay in place even when the chessboard is tilted. There are total 32 pieces in two colors (red, black). Each piece is 1.2" in diameter.
