Our Sailing Boat Kites look majestic flying through the air, swooping and riding waves of air! Our excellent sailing boat or if you prefer Pirate Boat kites are handmade on the island of Bali, they were the hit of the recent International Bali Kite Festival. They are handmade from strong colourful lightweight parachute material built over a framework of strong lightweight bamboo rods. They feature two masts and three sets of sails so they are very stable in the air. Many people hang them up as a work of art but they can be flown and each kite comes with a long line complete with wooden handle to allow you to fly the kite. To fly the kite you need a gentle wind ( 5 -10 mph), we do not recommend flying these kites in a strong wind as they are large and may become difficult to control and may break away. Our Balinese Sailing Boat kites are a good size, they measures 64 cm from bow to stern and 66cm from keel to the top of the highest mast, the sails are 55 cm wide.
